Bearing small knowledge: Thrust ball bearings introduced and features described

Thrust ball bearing consists of a steel ball (with Cage), a shaft ring (a tight fit with the shaft) and a seat (there is a gap with the shaft and the bearing hole tight fit). Ball shaft ring and seatbetween the rotation. Can only afford one direction axial load, and can not bear radial load. Due to axial load is evenly distributed in each on the ball, so a larger payload capacity; work larger temperature rise, allowing the lower speed limit.

Thrust ball bearing can not restrict the radial movement of the shaft or housing, but limit the shaft and the housing in one direction of axial movement and, therefore, these bearings are usually used in combination with the deep groove ball bearings. Installation, the axis of the shaft and housing bore must remain concentric, otherwise due to the stress concentration caused premature failure of the bearing. In order to eliminate this undesirable phenomenon, the seat of 0.5 ~ 1mm radial gap is left between the outer diameter and housing bore. Should the shaft centerline shell bearing surface guarantee vertical, not allowed to occur axis tilt and flexural otherwise will cause premature bearing damage due to uneven load distribution. To eliminate the tilt of the axis of the bearing, on the supporting surface of the seat pad to the elastic material, such as oil-resistant rubber, leather, etc., or using the spherical seat of the thrust ball bearing.

The thrust ball bearings are separated type bearings, according to its structure is divided into one-way thrust ball and two-way thrust ball bearings. Way thrust ball bearings can withstand axial load one direction, two-way thrust ball bearings can withstand axial load in both directions. They can not bear radial load. Structure thrust ball bearings as well as with the seat cushion, seat cushion mounting surface spherical bearings with aligning performance, can reduce installation errors.

Thrust ball bearings are mainly used in the automotive, machine tool and other industries.
